Supply Chain Specialist – Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised Supply Chain Specialist to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Amesbury. The role is hands‑on and covers purchasing, supply planning, production scheduling, inventory control and ERP master‑data management. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure material availability and accurate planning information.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders, monitoring lead times and supplier performance.
• Maintain regular communication with suppliers regarding forecasts, orders and potential issues.
• Resolve delivery, quality and service problems together with internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain production and replenishment schedules to meet customer and operational needs.
• Balance demand against inventory, supplier capacity and production constraints.
• Monitor stock levels, identify shortages, excess or obsolete inventory and recommend actions.
• Create and maintain item master records, BOMs and other planning data in the ERP system.
• Prepare and analyse purchasing, inventory and supplier‑performance reports.

Required profile

• Previous experience in purchasing, supply planning, inventory management or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with an ERP or MRP system.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
