Support & Automation Technician (IT & Automation)

About the role

We are seeking a Support & Automation Technician to join our fast‑growing e‑commerce business in Maidstone. The role blends hands‑on IT support for over 200 users with maintenance of advanced automation equipment in our fulfilment centre.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair automation equipment such as conveyors, SLAM machines, pick‑to‑light and right‑size packaging systems.
• Perform proactive maintenance to maximise uptime and carry out reactive repairs to restore production lines.
• Provide first‑line IT support, diagnosing hardware, software, mobile devices and printer issues for internal users.
• Assist the IT Manager with infrastructure projects, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Mechanical or technical background, preferably with experience in a fulfilment or manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset with a strong interest in technology and automation.
• Ability to work independently and manage on‑call rota.

Required skills

• Experience with MS365.
• Familiarity with Ubiquiti networking equipment.
• Knowledge of automation equipment and basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
