Sustainability Consultant / Senior – Whole Life Carbon

About the role

We are looking for a Sustainability Consultant or Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our engineering consultancy in the South West of England. The role will focus on whole‑life carbon assessments and circular‑economy strategies for a variety of built‑environment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop site‑specific whole‑life carbon appraisals using in‑house tools and OneClick LCA software.
• Produce BREEAM Mat 01 carbon assessments for new and existing developments.
• Lead workshops with design teams and clients to set carbon targets, agree reduction strategies and embed circular‑economy principles.
• Provide expert advice on sustainable design, construction and building operation throughout project lifecycles.
• Collaborate with the wider Sustainability Discipline across Hoare Lea offices to share best practice and drive innovation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sustainability consulting, preferably within the construction or engineering sector.
• Strong understanding of whole‑life carbon methodology and circular‑economy concepts.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Self‑motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, hybrid working environment.
