About the role
The Systems Administrator II provides operational support for a team that manages large‑scale building management and physical security systems. The role is ticket‑driven, requiring systematic resolution of issues and hands‑on work with server hardware in data‑center environments.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and mount servers onto racks, ensuring adequate space, power, and cooling.
- Develop and implement capacity‑management strategies for large‑scale deployments.
- Install, reinstall, and maintain operating systems on new and existing servers.
- Perform daily server maintenance, troubleshooting, break‑fix, and lifecycle management.
- Maintain internal asset, ticketing, and rack data; coordinate with remote vendors on hardware failures.
- Provide on‑call support, collect asset status, erase drives for decommissioning, and manage RMA or media‑destruction processes.
- Conduct server network troubleshooting and provide feedback for tool/platform improvements.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong ability to work under pressure and independently.
- Excellent English communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of server function interdependencies and basic scripting.
Required skills
- Linux system administration.
- Shell/Bash scripting.
- Basic networking concepts (MAC, Subnet, TCP/IP).
- Out‑of‑band server management (IPMI).
- Server hardware installation, rack mounting, and capacity planning.
- Ticketing and asset‑management tools.
