Teacher – Core Subject GCSE (Term‑time, Permanent)

About the role
We are looking for an inspiring teacher to deliver high‑quality, personalised learning to students aged KS2‑KS5 at Parkside House School, an SEM‑H specialist independent school. You will teach a core subject up to GCSE level across our Ashington and Backworth sites, working within a multi‑professional team to support pupils who face significant barriers to learning.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons for individuals and small groups, covering GCSE content.
- Create, review and update Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Plans and tailored learning programmes.
- Support nurture‑based approaches, helping students develop emotional regulation and self‑control.
- Monitor, record and report on pupil progress, ensuring high‑quality assessment.
- Collaborate with LSAs, tutors, care staff and the wider multi‑professional team.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating and well‑organised learning environment on‑site and off‑site.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Ability to teach a core subject at GCSE level.
- Strong behaviour management and a nurturing, student‑centred approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Resilience, creativity and commitment to continuous professional development.
- Passion for helping students overcome barriers and achieve progress.
- Driving licence.
Required skills
What we offer
- Permanent, term‑time only contract (37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑4:00 pm).
- Salary up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
