About the role

Join St James Academy, part of the Dudley Academies Trust, as a Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (French). You will inspire secondary‑age students to develop confidence, curiosity and communication skills through engaging French lessons in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess high‑quality French language lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Raise student achievement and foster a love of language learning.
• Contribute to whole‑school initiatives, including extra‑curricular activities and enrichment programmes.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the multi‑academy trust to share best practice.
• Maintain accurate records, report progress and support students’ personal development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Passion for teaching French to secondary students.
• Ability to engage both experienced practitioners and early‑career teachers.
• Commitment to the school’s inclusive ethos and high expectations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of French language and culture.
• Effective classroom management and lesson planning.
• Ability to use assessment data to inform instruction.
