Teaching Assistant – The Glade (SEMH ARC)

About the role

The Glade (SEMH ARC) at Orchard View Primary Academy is seeking Teaching Assistants to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work alongside teachers to create a welcoming environment and help children achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils in classroom and designated areas.
• Assist with the smooth running of the academy day, including covering the office before and after school.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional resilience and confidence in pupils.
• Support teachers with lesson preparation, resource organisation and classroom management.
• Act as a friendly point of contact for pupils, parents and visitors.

Required profile

• Passionate about working with children who have additional needs.
• Reliable, patient and able to maintain professional boundaries.
• Willing to undergo pre‑employment checks and safeguarding training.
• Committed to contributing to a supportive, inclusive school culture.

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a pro‑rated salary between £19,676 and £21,323 per annum.
