Teaching Assistant – Westminster School

About the role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Westminster. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils build confidence, develop independence and achieve their full potential in a supportive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils.
• Support children with additional educational needs using personalised approaches.
• Promote positive behaviour strategies and help maintain classroom routines.
• Prepare resources and help organise the classroom.
• Foster a safe, inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and families to monitor pupil progress.

Required profile

• Passionate about helping children learn and develop.
• Patient, caring and supportive in approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous experience in a school or childcare setting is desirable but not essential.
