Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant

About the role

Join a dedicated team supporting children and young people aged 5 to 19 with complex learning needs, autism and challenging behaviour. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant you will help deliver personalised learning experiences in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one assistance to students, supporting their individual learning goals.
• Assist in implementing specialised learning plans and educational interventions.
• Create and maintain a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals to develop tailored strategies.
• Monitor and report on academic and social‑emotional development.
• Support students during outings, field trips and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy and ability to adapt teaching strategies.
• Relevant experience or qualifications in special education (desirable).
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
