Team Manager – Integrated Mental Health & Substance Misuse

About the role

The Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Service at HMP Hewell is seeking an experienced mental health professional to lead a multidisciplinary team within a custodial setting. You will combine clinical practice with leadership to ensure high‑quality, recovery‑focused care for some of society’s most vulnerable individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team delivering integrated mental health, wellbeing, and substance‑use care.
• Maintain a small clinical caseload, providing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based interventions.
• Champion a stepped‑care mental health model, overseeing referral management, allocation of named workers and continuity of care.
• Support development and implementation of targeted care pathways tailored to individual needs.
• Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners, including hospitals, community mental health teams and substance‑misuse services.
• Provide supervision, monitor standards and promote professional development within the team.

Required profile

• Qualified mental health professional with experience in prison or forensic settings.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management experience.
• Ability to hold a clinical caseload while overseeing service delivery.
• Commitment to a recovery‑focused, integrated care approach.
