Technical Pricing Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Pricing Manager to own and evolve complex pricing models for a leading UK personal lines insurer. This senior‑level position offers the autonomy to shape analytical techniques at scale and drive meaningful change across the pricing function.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain advanced modelling techniques to improve pricing algorithms.
• Act as the technical owner of specific models, ensuring accuracy, governance, relevance and performance tracking.
• Lead major technical projects from concept through implementation, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
• Analyse data and management information to identify challenges and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations.
• Conduct sign‑off meetings with senior stakeholders, presenting business benefits, risks and methodology.
• Mentor analysts, provide SME support, peer review and technical guidance.
• Serve as first line of defence for regulatory and fair‑value compliance of all deployed models.

Required profile

• Numeric degree or equivalent experience with strong analytical and data‑manipulation abilities.
• Proven experience delivering statistical models such as GLMs, GBMs or comparable techniques.
• Familiarity with WTW Radar and Emblem software; exposure to Databricks, SQL or Python is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of regulatory and fair‑value requirements for pricing models.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical findings to senior audiences.
