Technical Sales Manager

About the role

The Technical Sales Manager will lead business development for a specialist supplier of industrial adhesives, sealants, tapes and advanced bonding solutions within the UK Defence and Aerospace markets. Reporting to the Sales Director, you will build strategic relationships with aerospace manufacturers, defence contractors, OEMs and their supply chains, translating technical product benefits into commercial wins.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and generate new business opportunities across aerospace and defence OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and manufacturing organisations.
• Manage and grow existing strategic accounts throughout the UK.
• Promote a portfolio of industrial adhesives, sealants, tapes, films and specialty bonding products.
• Engage with procurement, engineering, quality, manufacturing and project stakeholders to move specifications from design to production.
• Deliver technical and commercial presentations and work with technical support and supplier partners to provide value‑added solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies.
• Maintain a robust sales pipeline and achieve revenue and margin targets.
• Represent the business at industry exhibitions, trade events and customer meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, technical sales or key‑account management within industrial products.
• Background selling adhesives, sealants, tapes, coatings, composites, polymers or engineered materials.
• Good knowledge of the UK defence and/or aerospace sectors.
• Ability to engage both commercial and technical decision‑makers and manage long sales cycles.
• Highly self‑motivated with strong negotiation and relationship‑building capabilities.
