Telesales Representative – Customer Service & Sales

About the role

Join the Letchworth branch of the UK’s leading independent supplier of fencing, timber and building materials as a Telesales Representative. You will be the first point of contact for trade and retail customers, handling inbound and outbound calls to drive engagement and support branch sales.

Key responsibilities

• Handle high volumes of inbound and outbound calls professionally, promoting products and services.
• Qualify leads, identify customer needs and convert enquiries into orders.
• Process orders, quotations and amendments accurately using company systems.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and suggest alternatives or upsell opportunities.
• Record interactions in CRM or order systems and collaborate with yard and delivery teams.
• Meet individual and team sales targets and contribute ideas for process improvement.

Required profile

• Previous telesales, customer service or sales experience, preferably in a builders merchants or trade supply environment.
• Excellent telephone manner and strong verbal communication skills.
• Target‑driven, resilient and able to work in a busy branch setting.
• Organised, able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
• Team player with a positive, flexible attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
