Trainee Financial Planner – £42k Salary, Bonus, Hybrid – Torquay

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Financial Planner to join a respected Chartered Independent Financial Planning firm in Torquay. You will work with an inherited client bank of approximately £40m AUM and receive full training, mentoring, and support to develop into a qualified Financial Planner.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior advisers in delivering holistic financial advice across pensions, investments, protection, estate planning and wealth planning.
• Develop client relationships under the guidance of experienced mentors.
• Prepare financial plans, reports and recommendations using the firm’s technology platform.
• Participate in client meetings and follow‑up actions as part of your training pathway.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and firm policies.

Required profile

• Experience as a paraplanner or junior adviser with some client‑facing exposure.
• Strong desire to achieve Chartered Financial Planner status.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
