Trainee IT Operations Specialist

About the role

As a Trainee IT Operations Specialist in Mastercard's Operations Command Centre, you will support the continuous monitoring and operation of critical national infrastructure. Working in a 24/7 environment, you will help ensure the availability, performance and security of essential systems that underpin national operations.

Key responsibilities

• Real‑time monitoring of system dashboards, alerts and performance metrics across multiple IT platforms.
• First‑line investigation and resolution of technical incidents, applying known fixes to restore services.
• Escalation of unresolved or high‑impact incidents to second‑line support or senior engineers with clear documentation.
• Following and improving operational procedures for monitoring and incident handling.
• Participating in a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Eagerness to learn, retain detailed procedures and technical knowledge.
• Ability to work both collaboratively in a high‑performing team and independently.
