Trainee Swimming Teacher – Fully Funded STA Level 2

About the role

GLL is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the team at Windrush Leisure Centre as Trainee Swimming Teachers. The role offers a fully funded STA Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification and the chance to develop a rewarding career teaching people of all ages to swim.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver swimming lessons to non‑swimmers, beginners and improvers across a range of ages.
• Support a Lead Teacher in daily lesson planning and delivery.
• Provide constructive feedback and motivation to learners.
• Perform basic administrative tasks related to lesson scheduling and record‑keeping.

Required profile

• Competent swimmer.
• Strong verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
• Patient, approachable and able to motivate learners.
• Willingness to commit to a five‑day intensive STA Level 2 training course.
• Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• STA Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification (to be obtained through funded training).
