Trainer / Assessor

About the role

As a Trainer/Assessor at St John Ambulance you will deliver accredited first‑aid and health‑care courses to a diverse learner base. You will ensure each session meets the organisation’s high standards for safety, compliance and learner satisfaction while supporting the charity’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver training courses and assessments in line with awarding‑body requirements.
• Maintain training environments, equipment and documentation to ensure safety and compliance.
• Record learner progress, complete assessments and submit accurate reports on time.
• Collaborate with permanent staff, casual workers and volunteers to uphold consistent training quality.
• Promote St John Ambulance products and services and support new training initiatives.
• Act as a designated first aider and fire marshal when required.

Required profile

• Confident, engaging presenter with a passion for high‑quality learning experiences.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Committed to continuous professional development and staying up‑to‑date with training standards.
• Ability to work safely and support inclusive, supportive learning environments.

Required skills

• First‑aid certification or equivalent health‑care training qualification.
• Fire‑marshal training or experience in health‑and‑safety roles.
