Transport Coordinator - UK Freight & Logistics (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Transport Coordinator to manage daily logistics operations for the UK heavy goods vehicle (HGV) sector. Working remotely, you will coordinate loads, plan routes, and act as the primary liaison between clients and drivers to ensure timely and efficient transport across the United Kingdom and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Source, negotiate and book daily haulage loads using Haulage Exchange and other UK freight platforms.
• Maintain the Transport Management System (TMS) by entering job details, tracking vehicle movements and updating driver statuses in real time.
• Plan cost‑effective routes considering delivery timelines, fuel consumption and traffic patterns.
• Communicate professionally with UK‑based clients, providing load updates and handling inquiries.
• Issue precise job instructions to drivers and ensure compliance with scheduled operations.
• Collect, verify and manage transport documentation such as Proof of Delivery (POD) forms and consignment notes.
• Monitor compliance with UK transport regulations and report any deviations.
• Prepare routine reports on load activity, revenue and driver performance.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in UK freight or transport coordination.
• Strong organisational abilities and a proactive, independent work style.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Reliable high‑speed internet connection for remote work.
