Travel Consultant

About the role

We are partnering with a reputable West End tour operator to hire a Travel Consultant who will support both direct clients and travel‑agent partners. The role blends office‑based work with home‑based days and focuses on delivering high‑value bookings while meeting sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls from direct clients and travel agents for new booking enquiries.
• Upsell and cross‑sell travel products to maximise every sales opportunity.
• Achieve monthly sales targets across all product lines.
• Provide exceptional customer service to discerning, loyal travellers.
• Respond to enquiry and callback requests promptly with clear written communication.
• Manage multiple calls and emails simultaneously.
• Support crisis events such as flight changes or non‑operational tours when required.
• Use Microsoft programmes, especially Excel, for day‑to‑day data entry and reporting.
• Share knowledge and take initiative within the team.

Required profile

• Strong focus on service quality and sales volume.
• High attention to detail to ensure error‑free bookings.
• Proven sales experience, preferably in the travel industry, with a record of meeting targets.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and on a rota basis (37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Sunday).
• Flexibility to handle non‑sales tasks when needed.

Required skills

• GDS (Global Distribution System) knowledge.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency.

What we offer

• Salary of £26,000 per year plus commission.
