Unqualified Cover Supervisor – Penrith Secondary Schools

About the role

Veritas Education is seeking enthusiastic individuals to work as Unqualified Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Penrith and surrounding areas. This role offers a practical introduction to classroom teaching for graduates, sports coaches, youth workers, tutors, teaching assistants and anyone with experience supporting young people.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons when the class teacher is absent.
• Maintain effective classroom behaviour and a positive learning environment.
• Engage students and keep them on task across a range of subjects.
• Provide support to pupils of various year groups as needed.

Required profile

• Confident, reliable and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience working with young people is desirable but not mandatory.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Graduates and aspiring teachers are encouraged to apply.

Required skills

• Basic classroom management.
• Ability to follow and deliver pre‑planned lesson material.
