Urban Driver Apprentice – 7.5t Vehicle (Southampton)

About the role

DX Network Services is offering a 15‑month Urban Driver Apprenticeship in Southampton. You will train to become a professional 7.5t driver, gaining a Category C1 licence and CPC qualification while working towards a full‑time driver position.

Key responsibilities

• Represent DX professionally at all times.
• Carry out all apprenticeship tasks, including office work, driver‑mate duties and warehousing.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• Scan and load deliveries safely using DX equipment.
• Plan routes to meet premium and timed delivery targets.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the shift.
• Report any on‑road or delivery issues to the traffic office immediately.
• Ensure customers receive deliveries in excellent condition and handle queries politely.
• Complete collections according to instructions and schedules.

Required profile

• Eligibility to obtain a Category C1 (7.5t) licence.
• Eligibility to obtain a CPC licence, a legal requirement for LGV vehicles.
• Commitment to a 15‑month full‑time apprenticeship.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Southampton and follow DX policies.
