Urgent Care Senior Veterinary Assistant

About the role

UrgentVet provides after‑hours urgent care for dogs and cats, bridging the gap between regular practice and emergency clinics. We are seeking a full‑time Senior Veterinary Assistant to deliver outstanding patient care, lead the team, and ensure excellent client service in our state‑of‑the‑art urgent care clinic.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea treatment, and euthanasia support.
• Lead and mentor junior staff, coordinate workflow, and maintain a clean, efficient clinic environment.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and clinical teams to respond to time‑sensitive cases and ensure safety of patients, clients, and staff.

Required profile

• Professional, dependable, and able to multitask in a hands‑on environment.
• Energetic, animal‑loving individual with strong work ethic and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and travel for on‑site training when required.

Required skills

• Animal handling, patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
• Phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
• Facility maintenance and client education.
