VAT Manager

About the role

Join a leading UK and Ireland accountancy firm as a VAT Manager based in Scotland. You will work closely with VAT Partners and Directors, managing a diverse client portfolio while leading a team of tax professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of significant VAT clients, including complex and high‑risk cases.
• Oversee and develop the work of junior team members and graduates.
• Deliver high‑quality VAT consultancy services across multiple sectors.
• Collaborate with Direct Tax, Employment Tax and Business Advisory teams.
• Provide additional support to local partners as required.

Required profile

• Extensive VAT experience in accountancy, industry or HMRC.
• Self‑sufficient and proactive in client and project management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong knowledge of current VAT legislation and complex issues.
• Experience in project and staff management, profitably managing a client portfolio.
• CTA qualification or equivalent experience.
