Vehicle Damage Assessor – Automotive Repair Centre

About the role

Our client, an independent automotive accident repair centre in Andover, is looking for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor to join their growing team. The role involves producing accurate repair estimates, coordinating with bodyshop staff and insurers, and ensuring high standards of safety and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare precise manual and computerised estimates in line with manufacturer, insurer and customer requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of all estimates and authorisations.
• Follow up on unauthorised work and secure proper authorisation before repairs commence.
• Liaise with bodyshop personnel to communicate work scope and manage workflow.
• Handle insurer communications for total loss determinations where applicable.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
• Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through clear communication and quality assessments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in vehicle estimating within an automotive accident repair environment.
• Audatex training or qualification (essential).
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal penalty points.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety protocols.

• Starting salary from £45,000 per annum.
