Vehicle Prepper – Commercial Vehicle Paint Preparation

About the role

The Vehicle Prepper will prepare commercial vehicles for paint application, ensuring surfaces meet the highest standards before they enter the bodyshop. Working on a permanent basis in Bury, you will join a stable, growing business supporting the paint and bodyshop teams.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle panels for imperfections and record findings.
• Sand surfaces to fine tolerances using hand and power sanders.
• Mask vehicles accurately prior to paint application.
• Operate grinders and other sanding equipment safely.
• Collaborate closely with the paint and bodyshop teams to confirm readiness for the next stage.

Required profile

• Previous experience in vehicle surface preparation, preferably on commercial vehicles.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• IMI Level 2 in Vehicle Body & Paint Operations or similar (advantageous).

Required skills

• Use of sanders and grinders.
• Vehicle panel inspection.
• Masking techniques for paint preparation.
