Visiting & Tenancy Sustainment Officer – Brent, London

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Visiting & Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join the housing team of a London borough in Brent. The role involves conducting regular home visits to council tenants, assessing tenancy sustainability, and providing support to vulnerable residents.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and carry out a programme of home visits across Brent, completing detailed tenancy assessments and data collection.
• Perform dynamic risk assessments, identifying health, safety and fire hazards, and report concerns.
• Detect and address issues such as damp, mould, disrepair, and liaise with repairs teams.
• Provide advice on repairs, maintenance expectations and tenancy conditions.
• Identify suspected tenancy fraud or breaches and report appropriately.
• Promote fire safety by testing smoke alarms and carbon‑monoxide devices.
• Recognise safeguarding, abuse or welfare risks and arrange referrals to relevant services.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of social housing, landlord responsibilities and safeguarding duties.
• CIH Level 3 qualification (or equivalent housing management experience).
• Understanding of health & safety, fire safety, GDPR and data protection.
• Previous experience in a housing association, local authority or similar environment, preferably as a Visiting Officer or Tenancy Sustainment Officer.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
