Volunteer & Wellbeing Officer

About the role

The Volunteer & Wellbeing Officer will work alongside the Community Engagement Manager to promote volunteer opportunities and support residents in overcoming isolation. This role focuses on expanding community inclusion across East Staffordshire, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and coordinate volunteer opportunities within the community.
• Engage residents to reduce isolation and encourage participation in local activities.
• Liaise with external providers and partners to maximise volunteering offers.
• Recruit, train and supervise volunteers, ensuring ongoing support.
• Maintain awareness of safeguarding, volunteer guidelines and GDPR requirements.

Required profile

• Strong networking skills and ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds.
• Empathy for vulnerable or socially isolated individuals.
• Professional representation of the organisation with a positive image.
• Understanding of isolation impacts, community services, and local area resources.
• Full driving licence, access to a vehicle and eligibility for an enhanced DBS check.
