Waiting Staff – Restaurant Server

About the role

Join Mortimer House Kitchen, an Italian restaurant and bar in Fitzrovia, as a member of the waiting team. You will help create memorable dining experiences by delivering attentive, friendly service in a vibrant, family‑style setting.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, present menus and answer initial queries.
• Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them to the kitchen and bar.
• Serve meals and beverages promptly, ensuring correct presentation.
• Maintain a clean, well‑set dining area and assist with table turnover.
• Handle payment transactions and keep the cash register balanced.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Uphold health, safety and hygiene standards at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar front‑of‑house role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
• Positive attitude, team‑player mindset and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Required skills

• Basic POS system operation.
• Cash handling proficiency.
