WCA Nurse – Hybrid (Sunderland)

About the role

Join Maximus as a Nurse Functional Assessor and use your clinical expertise to evaluate how disability or health conditions affect daily living. The role blends telephone, video and face‑to‑face assessments, offering a flexible hybrid schedule in Sunderland.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or in‑person assessments to determine the impact of physical or mental health conditions on daily life.
• Produce Personal Independence Payment (PIP) reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
• Apply clinical knowledge to complex cases involving chronic pain, physical and mental health disorders.
• Maintain accurate, detailed documentation and adhere to assessment guidelines.

Required profile

• Valid NMC registration number.
• Minimum one year of post‑registration adult or mental health nursing experience, within or outside the NHS.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship offered).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer software for report writing.
