Workplace Services Maintenance Officer – Fixed Term

About the role

You will join a small team delivering a safe, compliant and cost‑effective workplace service for IOSH. Working alongside another Maintenance Officer, you will manage day‑to‑day maintenance, statutory compliance and emergency response for the head office and its grounds.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and carry out routine maintenance across the building, grounds and gardens.
• Conduct statutory and regulatory compliance checks, record findings and remediate non‑compliances.
• Monitor the helpdesk, triage new reports and prioritise repairs, electrical and plumbing tasks.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/contractors to secure service agreements and resolve issues.
• Respond to emergency situations, ensuring rapid and safe resolution.
• Maintain accurate records in the CAFM system and produce compliance reports.
• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and DIY repairs as required.

Required profile

• Good working knowledge of building health and safety and listed‑building maintenance.
• Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport with colleagues, suppliers and contractors.
• Right to live and work in the UK.

• Understanding of building compliance and COSHH regulations.
• Basic electrical repairs.
• Basic plumbing repairs.
• Basic carpentry and DIY skills.
• Legionella management awareness.
• Use of a CAFM system.
• Technical fault‑finding ability.

What we offer

• 18‑month fixed‑term contract with a salary of £23,400‑£25,000 per year.
