Workshop Operative

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Workshop Operative to join our valve manufacturing team in Knutsford. You will work on the shop floor, assembling high‑quality valves and supporting testing processes in a safe, low‑risk environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble valves from machined components following engineering drawings.
• Carry out basic functional testing of assembled units.
• Assist with general workshop duties such as packing, dispatch and stock handling.
• Support specialised processes, including non‑destructive testing (NDT), when required.
• Meet daily production targets as part of a collaborative team.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workspace.

Required profile

• Reliable, with a strong work ethic and pride in workmanship.
• Positive attitude and enjoyment of teamwork.
• Eagerness to learn new skills and follow full training provided.
• Basic numeracy, literacy and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Non‑destructive testing (NDT) awareness.
• Basic functional testing of mechanical components.

What we offer

• Starting hourly rate of £13.20, rising to £13.50 after probation.
