Customer Order Expeditor

About the role

Oliver Valves is seeking a proactive Customer Order Expeditor to join its Knutsford manufacturing team. You will act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring they receive up‑to‑date information on their orders and that deliveries meet promised dates.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customers with regular, accurate order status updates.
• Respond to email and phone enquiries within 24 hours.
• Review order progress and coordinate timely picking to achieve on‑time delivery.
• Liaise with Sales, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Documentation and Logistics to align production and shipping schedules.
• Work with customer and third‑party inspectors, arranging inspections and communicating findings.
• Identify and resolve issues that could delay deliveries, proposing alternative actions when necessary.

• Detail‑oriented, reliable and able to manage time effectively.
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Experience with MRP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
