Workshop & Service Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Workshop & Service Assistant to support our client’s equipment supply operations for the construction, manufacturing and production sectors. You will work on‑site in the workshop, coordinating equipment movements, assisting engineers and ensuring trucks are ready for hire.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with service, hire and sales teams to arrange equipment collection and delivery.
• Load and unload delivery lorries safely and efficiently.
• Complete booking forms for equipment being returned or dispatched.
• Operate forklift trucks (FLT) around the site after training.
• Clean trucks, including steam cleaning, before they go out on hire.
• Carry out minor cosmetic repairs and general workshop housekeeping.
• Assist engineers with minor building maintenance and occasional part deliveries to client sites.

Required profile

• Physically fit and able to handle manual loading tasks.
• Good communication skills to interact with multiple departments.
• Willingness to learn and follow health and safety procedures.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for minor repairs.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (training provided).
