Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Accountant to join our growing Accounts team at the Bootle Ford store. You will support the dealership accountants in delivering accurate monthly management accounts and help drive financial insight across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Support Dealership Accountants with the production of monthly management accounts for various departments.
• Complete monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and produce analysis for heads of departments.
• Process accruals, pre‑payments, daily bank reconciliations and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Assist the Accounts Department with operational and administrative tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
• Undertake projects assigned by the Group Financial Controller.
• Respond to internal and external accounting queries.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in accounting.
• Previous accounting experience or relevant study is desirable.
• Strong numerical and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment and stay organised under pressure.
• Initiative, positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
