About the role
We are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our rural headquarters overlooking mountains and sea. You will work on high‑end bespoke hand‑built cars, Mk1 & Mk2 Escorts and performance vehicles, delivering precise electrical solutions from concept to delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and install bespoke motorsport‑grade wiring harnesses to Raychem/DR‑25 standards.
- Configure and troubleshoot CAN‑based systems, including standalone ECUs, power distribution modules and digital dashboards.
- Perform advanced fault diagnosis using multimeters and specialist diagnostic software.
- Set up and calibrate sensors and safety systems prior to vehicle delivery.
- Install specialised equipment such as fire‑suppression systems, radio communications, immobilisers and trackers.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of automotive electrics experience, preferably in a dealership or high‑end restoration environment.
- Self‑motivated, passionate about cars, motorsport and delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and composure under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a “concours” mindset for wire routing and workspace organisation.
Required skills
- Design and build motorsport‑grade wiring harnesses (Raychem/DR‑25).
- CAN Bus integration and troubleshooting, with knowledge of bitrates and terminating resistors.
- Reading and writing DBC files.
- Advanced fault diagnosis using multimeters and specialist software.
- System calibration of sensors and safety systems.
- Installation of fire‑suppression, radio communications, immobilisers/trackers.
- Expert crimping with professional‑grade DTM/Mil‑Spec connectors.
- Interpretation and creation of electrical schematics.
