Band 3 Ward Administrator – Mulberry Ward

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and personable Ward Administrator to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors on Mulberry Ward at Chippenham Community Hospital. In this part‑time role you will support the smooth journey of patients from admission through to discharge, allowing clinical staff to focus on delivering high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of clerical and administrative duties to keep ward operations running efficiently.
• Support care coordination by maintaining up‑to‑date patient records throughout the admission‑to‑discharge pathway.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism at all times.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, colleagues and external partners via telephone, email and post.
• Work proactively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Build strong working relationships through empathy, confidence and respect.
• Manage complex or sensitive situations discreetly.

Required profile

• Previous administration experience, preferably in a busy or customer‑facing environment.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to support clinical staff.
