Brick and Multiskills Technician

About the role

The Brick and Multiskills Technician provides technical support to ensure the smooth delivery of practical teaching, learning and assessment within the Construction Trades curriculum. Working on the Maidstone Campus, you will supervise students, maintain safe workshop environments, and manage tools and materials.

Key responsibilities

• Support and supervise students during practical sessions, workshops, demonstrations and assessments.
• Maintain health, safety and housekeeping standards in workshops and classrooms, complying with legislation and policies.
• Handle, store, maintain and dispose of materials, chemicals, tools and equipment in line with COSHH regulations.
• Prepare and stock equipment, tools and resources; manage inventory records and ordering.
• Provide technical advice to staff and students on equipment use and safe working procedures.
• Collaborate with curriculum staff to support programme delivery, assessment and standardisation.
• Assist with training programmes, apprenticeships, employer engagement and departmental initiatives on‑ and off‑site.
• Participate in audits, inspections and maintain organised workspaces.

Required profile

• Commitment to health and safety standards and ability to act as a Fire Marshal and First Aider.
• Strong organisational skills for inventory and resource management.
• Willingness to undertake continuous professional development in construction‑related technical knowledge.
