Catering Lecturer – Further Education

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Catering Lecturer to deliver high‑quality lessons for further‑education learners across Greater Manchester. You will inspire students pursuing careers in hospitality, catering and food service, helping them develop practical culinary skills and industry knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Catering, Professional Cookery and Hospitality lessons.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate teaching records in line with college requirements.
• Create an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse abilities.
• Ensure all practical sessions comply with food hygiene, health and safety, and industry regulations.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Catering, Professional Cookery, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts or a related field.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
• Experience teaching in Further Education, Higher Education, secondary or adult learning environments.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Passion for catering and hospitality education.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food hygiene standards.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
