Commercial Banking Product Strategist
codat · London
Job description
About the role
Codat is building an Advisory Intelligence layer for modern commercial banking. As a Commercial Banking Product Strategist you will act as the banker’s voice within the product team, shaping data‑driven insight modules that help relationship managers and treasury officers drive revenue and deepen client relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Design actionable insights by defining the signals that matter across Treasury & Payments, FX, supply‑chain finance, working capital and lending, ensuring they translate into fee‑generating actions.
- Represent the daily reality of commercial bankers and treasury officers in product decisions, from coverage models to cross‑sell motions.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to translate banking domain knowledge into concrete requirements, evaluation criteria and quality standards for the Banking Context Engine and its Microsoft Copilot integration.
- Support GTM activities as the banking subject‑matter expert, joining sales conversations, demos and executive meetings with prospect and customer banks.
- Help build ROI narratives that link Codat’s insights to outcomes such as fee‑revenue growth, expanded coverage without added headcount, and client retention.
- Codify banker workflows, product economics, organisational structures and buying dynamics into reusable assets that raise banking fluency across the company.
Required profile
- Significant first‑hand experience inside commercial banking – as a treasury management officer, relationship manager or commercial product manager serving mid‑market and SMB clients.
- Deep understanding of how commercial banks generate revenue from treasury and payments fees, deposit economics, FX, card, supply‑chain finance and working‑capital products.
- Familiarity with bank coverage models, portfolio segmentation, call planning and the practical constraints that affect proactive advice.
- Ability to translate domain expertise into clear product requirements and explain why an insight will or won’t resonate with bankers.
- Credibility and composure when speaking with senior bank executives, having interacted directly with heads of treasury management or commercial banking.
- Curiosity about AI‑assisted banking workflows and experience with copilot‑style tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
