About the role

Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the N1/N2 Headhouse works on the HS2 programme in Warwick. You will be responsible for safe, efficient delivery of this high‑profile infrastructure project, aligning with programme, cost and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate multiple work packages and site teams.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Drive programme delivery and align work with project milestones.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, coordination and compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial and planning functions.
  • Monitor quality and enforce compliance with specifications.
  • Review and approve method statements, risk assessments and construction documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve site issues and report progress to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong background in heavy civils, structures or reinforced concrete works.
  • Experience managing complex interfaces and multiple subcontractors.
  • Solid understanding of construction planning and programme management.
  • In‑depth knowledge of UK health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational abilities.

Required skills

  • SMSTS certification (essential).
  • CSCS card (essential).
  • Heavy civils construction expertise.
  • Reinforced concrete construction expertise.
  • Construction planning and programme management.
  • Knowledge of UK health and safety regulations.
