Contract Asbestos Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking a freelance asbestos surveyor for a 6‑month contract in London, working on commercial and infrastructure projects across the UK. The role offers varied daily tasks, independent scheduling and the chance to deepen expertise in management, refurbishment and demolition surveys.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys on commercial properties and major infrastructure sites.
• Collect and label bulk samples of suspected Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) in accordance with health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Manage your own workload, meet weekly project deadlines and ensure timely submission of survey reports and sample documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate findings to the client’s project team.

Required profile

• Hold a BOHS P402 or equivalent RSPH asbestos surveying qualification.
• Demonstrable post‑qualification experience conducting commercial asbestos surveys.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, plan your own schedule and deliver high‑quality reports.
• Eligibility to live and work in the United Kingdom.

Required skills

• Asbestos surveying (Management and R&D surveys).
• Bulk sampling of Asbestos Containing Materials.
• Use of personal protective equipment, including half‑mask with current face‑fit certificate.
• Possession of reliable transportation and a complete survey toolkit.

What we offer

• Daily rate of £250‑£260, outside IR35.
• Six‑month fixed‑term contract with the possibility of extension.
