Customer Service Desk Colleague

About the role

Join Tesco as a Customer Service Desk Colleague at the Witney Station Lane Esso Express. You will be the first point of contact for shoppers, delivering friendly and efficient service while supporting store operations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer queries and provide product information with enthusiasm.
• Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally, ensuring a positive outcome.
• Process returns, record customer details securely, and perform safe & legal checks at the desk.
• Manage waste, recycling and food waste according to store procedures.
• Sign in visitors, communicate health, safety and fire procedures, and control desk keys.
• Liaise with shift leaders, managers and security to maintain smooth operations.
• Assist in seasonal, community and charity events to foster an inclusive atmosphere.
• Support other store areas such as picking and replenishment when needed.

Required profile

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
• Able to follow training, work safely and handle confidential information.
• Good communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

What we offer

• Hourly rate starting at £13.28 (up to £14.55 in M25 locations).
• Minimum 16 guaranteed hours per week (flexible down to 12 hours).
• Three weeks’ notice of shift patterns and the possibility to adjust availability.
