Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to protect our critical IT infrastructure, services and data. You will work across incident response, monitoring, auditing, awareness training, supplier security assessments, vulnerability management and continuous improvement projects, giving you genuine variety and visibility across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse outputs from security tools to identify potential threats and indicators of compromise.
• Investigate cyber events and take action to minimise risk and protect services.
• Fine‑tune existing security controls to maximise the value of current technologies and investments.
• Support regular audits, security testing and remediation activities to ensure risks remain within appetite.
• Assess the security posture of suppliers and third‑party services.
• Contribute to cyber incident response planning and playbook testing/development.
• Produce security reports for stakeholders and support relevant governance forums.

Required profile

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a cyber‑security focused role.
• Proven experience responding to cyber events and incidents.
• Strong understanding of cyber risk management principles.
• Solid technical knowledge of infrastructure, operating systems, networking and on‑prem security.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Within a 45‑minute commute of Cambridge and able to work in the office at least two days per week.
• Full right to work in the UK without restrictions.
