About the role

Babel, a multinational technology consultancy, is looking for a Host Developer to support its mainframe and batch processing initiatives. The role will involve working on client projects that require deep expertise in legacy systems and modern automation tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using COBOL on mainframe environments.
• Create, sort, copy, and match files using utility programs.
• Write and manage JCL scripts for batch job scheduling.
• Interact with DB2 databases using SQL for data manipulation.
• Configure and monitor batch processes through CONTROL‑M.
• Maintain version control using ChangeMan.
• Collaborate with teams following Agile methodologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience with COBOL programming.
• Strong knowledge of JCL and mainframe batch processing.
• Familiarity with DB2 and SQL.
• Understanding of utility tools for file handling.
• Experience with CONTROL‑M and ChangeMan.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment.
