Divisional Finance Director

About the role

The Divisional Finance Director will lead the finance function for a multi‑site, PE‑backed B2B services business. Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with the Managing Director, this senior leader will shape strategy, drive performance and support transformation across the division.

Key responsibilities

• Own the divisional P&L and balance sheet, ensuring profitability, cash generation and returns.
• Partner with the leadership team to develop and execute the business plan.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and performance management, providing insight into risks and opportunities.
• Translate operational activity into clear, decision‑ready financial insight.
• Drive cash generation, working‑capital discipline and profit‑to‑cash conversion.
• Support growth initiatives through commercial analysis, pricing, investment appraisal and performance tracking.
• Collaborate with operations and commercial teams to improve margins and decision quality.
• Develop and lead a high‑performing divisional finance team.
• Assist with future M&A activity.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Director or senior finance leader in a complex, multi‑site environment.
• Background in infrastructure, environmental services, industrial services, logistics or similar asset‑heavy B2B sectors.
• Full ownership of P&L and balance sheet with accountability for cash generation.
• Strong understanding of operational drivers and unit economics.
• Hands‑on, pragmatic leader capable of acting as the MD’s number two.
• Commercial mindset with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience in fast‑moving, evolving organisations; private‑equity exposure is a plus.
