Financial Accountant - Sports

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a fast‑growing Sports & Media agency. The role sits within the UK & EMEA Controllership Team and reports to the Financial Controller, supporting a multi‑entity, multi‑currency business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare multicurrency consolidated trial balances for multiple entities under UK GAAP, including eliminations and equity reconciliations for statutory audit.
• Coordinate financial statement preparation with external advisors.
• Complete monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Review and approve bank postings and journals prepared by the Finance Assistant.
• Prepare month‑end journals (pre‑payments, accruals, adjustments) across UK and EMEA operations.
• Support finance system transitions and help strengthen financial controls to keep the business audit‑ready.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification (or final stages of qualification).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including double‑entry accounting and UK GAAP.
• Experience consolidating trial balances and preparing information for audit.
• Ability to understand the impact of transactions on P&L and balance sheet.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with excellent attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP and multicurrency consolidation.
