About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic GCSE English Teacher to join a leading Further Education college in Greater Manchester on a temporary full‑time basis for the new academic year. The role involves delivering high‑quality English instruction to learners preparing for their GCSE examinations, supporting them to develop strong literacy, communication and analytical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging GCSE English lessons in line with the college curriculum.
- Assess student work, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and achievement.
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student confidence.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to departmental development.
Required profile
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
- Relevant English qualification and proven experience teaching GCSE English.
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
Required skills
- Curriculum planning and lesson design for GCSE English.
- Student assessment and feedback provision.
- Use of standard educational technology and resources.
