Graduate Geotechnical Design Engineer – London

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Graduate Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a leading ground engineering consultancy in London. This permanent position offers a solid start to your engineering career, working on diverse residential, commercial, infrastructure and energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing foundations, retaining walls, slope stabilisation and earthworks schemes.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and calculations using industry‑standard software.
• Interpret ground investigation data and prepare geotechnical assessments.
• Produce technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Support senior engineers throughout project delivery from feasibility to construction.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Attend site visits to monitor investigations and construction activities.
• Contribute to risk assessments, value engineering and ensure compliance with standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
• Strong academic record with a keen interest in geotechnical design.
• Understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
