Head of Commercial Finance

About the role

Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Commercial Finance will lead commercial finance strategy and execution across RLB’s growing international business. The role sits at the heart of the company’s growth agenda, partnering with senior leaders to embed disciplined commercial practices and improve systems and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support strategy development by providing financial insight, analysis and constructive challenge to business decisions and investment opportunities.
• Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, setting financial targets and guiding regional and service leaders.
• Drive monthly business reviews, delivering KPI analysis, revenue modelling and actionable recommendations to improve profitability and cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and internal policies, with a focus on revenue recognition and working‑capital optimisation.
• Develop finance team capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning while championing continuous improvement of finance processes and the Dynamics 365 system.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with 15+ years of commercial finance and business‑partnering experience.
• Proven track record of leading high‑performing finance teams and influencing senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Experience in professional services or consultancy, preferably within the built environment sector.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical and strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights.
