Head of Directional Drilling – New Division Lead

About the role

This senior position offers the chance to create and lead a brand‑new directional drilling division within a fast‑growing civil engineering business. You will be responsible for building the team, shaping the service offering and driving commercial success from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and grow a new directional drilling division, including recruitment and resource planning.
• Price, tender and win new projects across the existing customer base.
• Oversee day‑to‑day drilling operations, ensuring safety, quality and profitability.
• Travel UK‑wide, covering the South Coast to Yorkshire, to support projects and client relationships.
• Collaborate with senior management to align the division with the company’s growth strategy.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in the directional drilling industry.
• Proven track record in a senior leadership or management role.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to price and win work.
• Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
